Our story

The photographs you care about most are the ones you see least.

That is the whole idea behind The Memory Vaults. Everything we make exists to move a handful of pictures out of a gallery nobody scrolls back through, and into a room, a shelf, a wall, or somebody else's hands.

Where this came from

Phones made photographs free, and free things pile up. What you end up with is years of images nobody will ever scroll back far enough to reach — including the ten or twenty that would have been worth keeping.

Printing is the oldest fix for that problem and it still works. A photograph with edges gets looked at. A book of them gets opened by people who were not even there. That is the entire business — taking pictures you already have and making them into something that exists in a room.

We started with scrapbooks because they are the hardest to do well and the most worth doing — and added prints, frames and the smaller keepsakes around them.

How we work

  • The photograph decides the layout

We build pages around the pictures you send rather than dropping them into a fixed grid. It takes longer. It is also the only way the finished thing looks like it was made for you and not for anyone.

  • Nothing is printed on a guess

If a photograph will not survive being printed at the size you want, we say so first. If the price depends on a choice you have not made yet, we work it out with you rather than surprising you at the end.

  • Made one at a time

There is no stock room here. Everything is printed, trimmed and assembled after you order it, which keeps the work small and the attention on one order at a time.

Where we are right now

We are new. There is no long client list behind this and we are not going to pretend otherwise — a studio that has just started has nothing to show but the work and the way it handles an order.

What that means in practice is good for early customers. Orders get more attention than they would in a busy month, the person replying to you is the person making the thing, and we would rather talk you out of a size that will not work than take the order and hope.

The styled product and process images on this site are AI-generated visualisations. As orders go out, we will add photographs of finished work. Every order is made around your photographs and the details we agree with you.
